Story-craft: Share Your Tale

Stories are how people have always connected.

Sunday 22 November 3:30pm – 5:30pm with Osama Farooqui The Hood by Mamahood ↗ 200 AED · 370 AED any two · 660 AED all four

We spend so much time and energy trying to get people to care about our ideas. At work or in everyday life, it can be exhausting when your point doesn’t land the way you hoped.

Stories are how people have always connected, and improv is a brilliant way to find yours. With no script to hide behind, you learn to share real motivations, clear moments and honest human experiences, and you notice how quickly people lean in when you do.

In this workshop, you’ll

  • Discover the simple building blocks that make a story stick
  • Find the stories hiding in your own everyday experiences
  • Tell them in the moment, without a script or slides
  • Read your listeners and shape your story around them

You’ll leave with stories worth telling, and the confidence to tell them.

Osama Farooqui

Osama has been all in on improv since day one, and 10 years later he’s still one of the most enthusiastic and energetic performers in Dubai’s improv community. Every week you’ll find him performing in improv shows across the city, including as a regular cast member of the popular Karak After Dark improv nights. He also creates original formats with fellow performers and regularly shares the stage with Salman. Along the way, he has trained with some of the most influential improv minds in the world, including Shawn Kinley, Jacob Banigan, Felipe Ortiz and Tim Orr. He’s a big supporter of fellow artists across Dubai’s theatre and comedy scene.

Off stage, Osama is an executive coach and learning and development professional with over a decade of international experience, specialising in executive presence, negotiation and organisational change. As a professional role-play actor, he designs and delivers realistic leadership simulations for organisations.

Osama first trained under Salman when he began his improv journey. Today he teaches corporate and public workshops alongside him with The Other Room, bringing big energy, generosity and a real love of helping other people shine.
