Training that turns real work into the room to practise it in.
Practical, experiential training that turns everyday workplace challenges into opportunities to practise, experiment and grow — built from improvisation, real scenarios and structured feedback.
The idea
People don't learn by sitting still.
Every industry is different and every team has different needs, but when we worked together over the years, we noticed a common thread: communication. One thing improv teaches is how to communicate to make the impossible possible.
We fell in love with the process of building interactive sessions that bring teams together, help leaders lead and show that sometimes the simplest thing can be the hardest to learn.
The secret to our formula is that we approach each client’s brief through their eyes. Just like when we are on stage creating a scene, we listen to their needs and work together to come up with a plan that solves the problem but, at its core, is fun.
We look forward to working with you to create a truly memorable experience that you and your team will talk about for years to come.

Who we are
Two worlds. One room.
At The Other Room, we believe people learn best when they have the opportunity to experience something for themselves.
Our programmes combine professional improvisation, experiential learning and, where appropriate, realistic role play to create learning that is active, engaging and grounded in the realities of the workplace.
Improv, at its core, is often two people alone on a stage with nothing more than a suggestion or two. Through simple actions and conversation, they can turn an empty stage into a ship in the middle of the ocean being taken down by a whale, or a job interview in a cramped office where everything goes wrong. Once the lights go down, the scene is over, never to be done again, but for the performers the lesson is clear: communication, trust and creativity can turn nothing into something. Your business might not be a stage, but colleagues face the same challenge — creating something fantastic together, just like each improviser has to do.
Rather than simply talking about communication, collaboration or leadership, we create opportunities for participants to practise these behaviours in the room. Through carefully facilitated exercises, realistic scenarios and structured reflection, participants can experiment with different approaches, notice their own behaviours and experience the impact they have on others.
Where greater realism is needed, we use professional role play actors to bring workplace situations and conversations to life, giving participants the opportunity to practise in a safe environment and receive meaningful, immediate feedback.
Every programme is responsive to the people in the room. We adapt our facilitation, exercises and scenarios to the group in front of us, creating an experience that feels relevant rather than prescribed.
The result is learning that isn’t just understood.
It’s experienced, practised and remembered — and, if we’re being honest, fun.

- Client partnerships
Over 13 years of working with clients, Kylie has built a strong reputation and set the industry standard for experiential, improv-led training. From high-end luxury brands to pharmaceutical leaders, she knows that no one size fits all, which is why she stresses the details to find the perfect session and ensure every participant walks away with a newfound outlook on how to tackle their next challenge. She loves a challenge. She doesn’t just ask for a brief; she wants to truly understand what clients need and what they hope to get out of the session, and she works tirelessly to build a programme that reflects that goal. She’s approachable, she’s attentive and, most importantly, she cares.

Salman is a seasoned comedian with over 15 years of experience and is a staple of the region’s comedy and improv scene. Thirteen years ago, he realised that his ability to bring a room together could be taught and, more importantly, could help companies bring their teams together. Just like on stage, every crowd is different, but with his charisma, charm and adaptable nature, he can adjust to any situation to get the most out of the moment. It’s that very spirit he brings to every training session he delivers, and it is a reason clients keep coming back year after year.
